PROS OF SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media has good and bad effects, but in my opinion the good effects trumps the bad. I think that social media is good because people can get to follow their role models and keep up with them, and they can feel like they are a part of their lives. Social media is an amazing new windows into their role models lives. You can also see pictures and videos of your friends and family, and it an effective way of communicating. If you have a specific talent, you can post videos and pictures of it and get a lot of positive feedback and attention, and you can even get discovered by a talent agent or scout. If you have special interests, you can connect with others who have your interests. Social media made my life better because i can finally communicate and look at pictures and videos of them on instagram of my family who live in other countries. A lot of my family live in other countries and it is amazing to have a whole new outlook on their lives other than talking on the phone or facetiming. Some people may say that the negative effects of social media overweights the positive. They can argue that there are many predators on social media, and it is not safe because people can hack into your device or account and find out your information. They also argue that people can cyberbully others and cause harm on others. One example of somebody who used the social media to their advantage is Justin Bieber. He posted videos of himself singing on youtube, and got discovered and is now one of the biggest and most famous singers in the world.  Another example is Shawn Megira. (Cynthia showed us a video on him) He was a normal guy,  but now every where he goes, he gets recognized wherever he goes and gets sponsored to advertise things and gets free things. In conclusion, social media benefits outweigh the negative effects. There are more advantages than disadvantages, the disadvantages mostly have to do with safety, but there are many different advantages.
